The Best in the Midwest, Ultimate Athletics fondly known as UA, has grown from an in-house cheerleading program at Ultimate Gymnastics to a larger scale, independently owned All-Star cheerleading gym. UA is one of the largest cheerleading and tumbling facilities in the country, and the number one all-star cheerleading gym in Illinois. Our staff is highly trained, talented, and creative.
Ultimate Athletics plays host to the most professional and highly qualified staff of any gym in the Midwest. Our team of coaches has over 100 years of combined experience and together has earned numerous local, state, national, and world titles. The staff at UA goes through extensive and rigorous screening and training each season to provide the most dynamic and successful curriculum possible.
Ultimate Athletics offers something for all children starting at age 3. Go Kids Recreational Cheer and Tumble Classes is a unique program designed for the recreational cheerleader or tumbler age 3 - 5 and 6 - 8 who is looking to build a strong group of core muscles and body awareness. These classes will safely introduce the basic tumbling skills such as forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and more. Children will begin to learn physical coordination and more importantly will begin to understand concepts such as taking turns, conquering fear, following directions and working well with others. This class offers tumbling instruction in a fun, loving, and nurturing environment.
Introduce your child to the sport of cheerleading through Ultimate’s Tiaras program. This program is a perfect way to teach the basic techniques and fundamentals of cheer in a fun and safe environment. This partial season team is a wonderful way to experience the thrill of competition without the year-round commitment of our premier teams. Tiaras participants receive bi-weekly instruction and participate in several local competitions.
Our Premier teams compete at the largest and most prestigious cheerleading competition in the country. Ultimate Athletics is widely recognized as one of the Midwest’s most successful and competitive all-star cheerleading programs. Participants in UA’s premier teams includes national level competitions, intense skill development, fast paced, professionally choreographed routines and instruction by the cheerleading industry’s leading experts in dance, stunts, pyramids, tumbling and basket-toss technique.
Athletes who train at our facility are provided with world class equipment to maximize their potential while providing a safe and comfortable environment. Ultimate Athletics state of the art facility includes many amenities such as: Two competition sized spring floors, rod floor, twisting belt, instant replay system, sate of the art sound systems, mirrored dance room, multiple skill shapes, birthday party room, air-conditioned viewing area, conditioning equipment and balance training apparatus. Excellent tumbling apparatus and equipment is available; tumble track, trampoline and foam block tumble strip, foam landing pit and much more.
GEMS, our *special needs cheer team is entering into its second season. We are delighted with the progress of this co-ed team which is comprised of athletes ages five and above with any type of disability. We welcome athletes on the entire spectrum of their disability. Kelly Brouton takes over as Director of Cheerleading Program at Ultimate Gymnastics Cheer and Dance.
Small Junior Prep and Large Junior Advanced gain momentum as awarding winning teams.
2004-2005
Craig El joins Kelly Brouton as Co-Director to a rapidly growing All-Star program.
Small Junior Prep has another award winning season.
Large Junior Advanced becoming a powerhouse in the Midwest!
Large Senior Open Advanced premiers at Cheersport Nationals
2005-2006
Tiny Team (level 1) premier’s places top five at Jamfest Nationals!
Mini Team (level 2) finishes first at 5 out of 6 competitions!
Junior (level 4) takes top honors at Jamfest’s “Wild Jam”
Senior (level 5) is offered a World’s Bid from “Cheersport Nationals”
2006
Ultimate All-Star Program is purchased by Craig El and Kelly Brouton becoming Ultimate Athletics “Home of the Ultimate All-Stars”!
2007 Craig EL becomes the sole owner of Ultimate Athletics LLC. Ultimate Athletics moves into its own stand alone 12,000 sq. ft facility in Lindenhurst. Ultimate Athletics changes its logo, website and overall image and begins to be known as UA. UA wins more national titles this season then ever before with Legacy finishing 9th in the World.
