Compete or Exhibit at the CheerExpo Open Championships May 15th & 16th, 2010 in Montreal, Quebec!
All registration information for teams and vendors are on-line now at www.cheerexpo.com!
This year, do something really different! CheerExpo is not just a competition. Anyone who has been to one can vouch for that. It also combines a cheer & dance shopping mall with vendors from all over the world and classes & seminars taught by experts in the field. All competitors and coaches have free access to all classes & seminars! It is truly an all in one event. It's like a summer camp for athletes, a coaches conference for coaches, a cheer & dance shopping extravaganza (way more exhibitors expected this year since we got our first year under the belt), AND an Open Championship Competition! Last year we had 35 classes offered in Montreal...and this year we are planning to add even more! For a list of instructors we hired in the 2009 season scroll down to the purple (under the French version)...their resumes speak for themselves. Last year's classes for both events can be found online if you want to get an idea of what topics were offered.
Get more for your competition dollar! This competition is open to all levels for both school and allstar teams. We're looking for the best of the best in every division; and we give you two chances to prove it. All teams compete twice (Saturday and Sunday) and your final score is a combination of both performances. The competition will have a full 54 x 42 (9 strip) spring floor and huge backdrop. We are famous for our on-time scheduling. ALL teams get awards and every Tiny and Mini gets an individual award. We also have awards and prizes for the grand champions in the school divisions and the MAX OUT award for allstar teams. Both of these teams will receive a ton of prizes with their banner and huge trophy including gift certificates for team wear (pick what you want!), free uniforms, free registration at events, etc.
What else do teams love? CheerExpo is a completely non-bias event. We have NO teams competing. We hire top of the line judges from all over North America who have judged all major US programs for a variety of competition companies. These people know their stuff. Not only do they judge you against the other teams in your division, they also judge you against the top US programs so you can get an accurate picture of how your team would score at a major US National or Worlds. They give constructive feedback and you get a chance to sit down with them and go over your score sheets face-to-face to get even more feedback. What is the extra cost of this? NOTHING!
Putting the FUN back in competitive cheerleading: We take competing seriously, but any team that has been to the CheerExpo will tell you, IT'S FUN! It's a laid back competition and a great team bonding experience. Not just within your own team, but with other teams as well. After competing, shopping and learning, you can also spend your time exploring a world class cultural city unlike any other on the planet. Montreal truely has something for everyone.
Tired of spending a fortune to compete? At CheerExpo your competition fees are $75 per athlete (early rate), two coaches attend free and their are NO SPECTATOR FEES! That's right...it won't cost Mom and Dad one penny to come watch you. So they can also bring Junior, Uncle Tom, Aunt Jane, Grandma and Grandpa and still all get in for free. That also means that Mom may have more money in her pocket for Sally Sue to shop with at the vendor booths (which you may not care about...but I am sure that Sally Sue does!). Your competition registration includes everything...all classes, both days of the competition, spectator seats, and entrance to the shopping mall. How much did you pay for your last summer camp or coaches conference? We're their over 35 different classes offered taught by experts from all over North America? Did your team get to compete too?
Registration does not include hotel, meals and travel. You have a choice of over 40 different hotels to choose from so you can decide if you want to go fancy or bare bones. We can help you make travel arrangements if requested or you can book on your own. This way you are not stuck booking with a travel agent that may end up costing you more money than if you searched the internet yourself.
But the spectator fees are just worked into the competitor price so it's really not any cheaper for Mom & Dad right? WRONG! While it is true that it will make little or no difference in what we take in at the event, keep in mind that most teams are sponsored or fundraise for competition fees. Mom & Dad can't do that for spectator fees. That typically comes right out of the family budget. And now that it is free to get in, all teams will have a lot more support from the stands because the whole family can come...friends too! This gives cheerleading as a whole more attention (which it deserves). And gives families from the area a taste of what cheerleading is so they can sign up their kids in your programs. So if you have people who are interested in finding out more about competitive cheerleading, tell them to come watch you! It won't cost them anything and may end up being one of your greatest marketing tools.
Watch & Learn: Can't bring the whole team to compete? No problem! You can still take advantage of the classes. We have a bracelet called a watch & learn pass where anyone can watch the competition but also take part in the classes. You can even buy them individually. We fly in instructors from all over North America to teach classes...much like a coaches conference but way cheaper. They are the same instructors that you would see at other top name coaches conferences (i.e. Craig Callaway from TX (stunt & tumbling writer for American Cheerleader Magazine), Matt Null from PA who is the creator of Team Esteem, a top level NCA instructor and a contributor for many coaches handbooks, Jeff Laber a top notch choreographer and instructor who won two national championships with the University of Kentucky, etc. etc.). Awesome instructors. There are at least two classes running every hour and you can pick and choose which classes you want to attend on the spot. So you just decide what divisions you want to watch and which classes you can't miss. To see samples of classes go online and click on the 2009 information for either event. You can find more information about Watch & Learn Passes on the website www.cheerexpo.com.
