The JuST Cheer gym is located in Fairfield, NJ and was opened by Sean Sova and Karen Potucek in 1996. The two owners were looking for an area that catered to cheerleaders ONLY without any distractions or restrictions. Because of this, they opened a gym and called it, "JuST Cheer." The gym is the largest in Northern, NJ and is home to the Tri-State area's hardest working and most talented athletes. It holds two spring floors, a non-spring floor, a rod-floor tumbling strip, a tumble-track, and various other tumbling/strength equipment. It also offers a large and comfortable viewing area for parents.
The JuST Cheer All-star program began in 1999. Currently, there are nine teams for the 2009-2010 season. (Senior 5, Senior Open 5, Senior 4, Senior 3, Senior 2, Youth 2, Mini Exhibition, Tiny Exhibition, Open Coed 6 ) The gym prides itself by keeping a "family-like" atmosphere where all 9 teams are united by a very strong statement... "Why Can't We All... JuST Cheer?!" The staff makes sure that each athlete has the same opportunity to succeed whether they are a beginning athlete or a very experienced one. The gym's mission statement encourages teamwork and the development of a positive self-image. This year, the gym is incorporating these two objectives as they have united to assist families that are less fortunate. The JuST Cheer "family" is doing a gym-wide fundraiser in support of the March Forth with Hope Foundation which provides financial assistance for families battling cancer or other life-threatening diseases. The children have stepped up this year in terms of generosity, friendship, hard work, and commitment. They are looking to make JuST Cheer's 11th season it's most successful one. Previously, JuST Cheer has earned 50 National titles and within the past 4 years, 6 Cheerleading Worlds Bids.
JuST Cheer offers many cheer opportunities along with its all-star program. Throughout the year, it is host to various recreational and high school programs that wish to practice on a competition floor and better their skills for their seasons. It also is the home to professional cheerleading teams and others that wish to rent space. The gym also offers tumbling classes for all levels of cheerleading. Summer Camps, Private Instruction, and Birthday Parties are also available.
